Living out of WI for 40 years, I was unaware of Robins passing. She was my first friend at Campus Elementary School, and have many childhood memories of her as we both lived on Summit Avenue. Barney and Fred were her dogs at the time - we both were dog lovers. Rest in Peace Robin

I cannot express the shock I felt when learning of her death. We knew each other in the 1990s. Very sad. . .

Robin had a boundless depth of love that would come surging out, on a regular basis. Love for dogs, love for all poodles, love for friends, for our mothers and our childhood! Intense, sweet, child-like, deep.

We had thought that there was no justice until we met you.. we learned late of your passing, but mourned your loss the same. We knew you to be a kind and sympathetic person, who fought for what you believed was right. What a courageous and warm-hearted person you were and how we never ceased the memory and the appreciation of what you meant to our family and friends. R.I.P. Robin

My condolences to the Shellow family, and all who loved and admired her, of which I am one of many. She was the consummate face of compassion, and the fierce face of warrior on behalf of all for whom she was their defender. And then there was Robin, in all that she was. I am Blessed to have known her. She will be surely missed.

We both vividly recall when we both first met Robin when we moved into Cedar Beach. Our brand new Bernese Mountain Dog puppy ran to Robin's doorstep.
Robin was a dog lover and her pets were a huge part of her life. We both spent time with Robin at the many Cedar Beach summer parties. She helped me with a legal case that occured when I was young.
She will be dearly missed, but a spirit in the Cedar Beach area.

I first met Robin when she was 12 maybe 14 years old. Even at a young age it was clear to me she had the intellect, humor, compassion and vision of her parents, Jim and Gilda.
She was intelligent without being condescending, brave without being arrogant and tough without being mean.
My brother and I enjoyed hearing about her novel legal defenses. We thought they showed a fearless pursuit of fairness. Robin understood the issue is not the subjective determination of guilt or innocence, but about getting a fair trial.
The world needs more people like Robin and is diminished by her leaving.

The news of Robin´s passing comes as a surprise and saddens me. Her talent, energy and care for the the disenfranchised were remarkable. I recall many conversations I had with her about people we had in common. Her stories were rich in sensitivity to folks who did not grow up like her. Her capacity for empathy was remarkable and I will miss her.

Robin and I were close in middle school. She was smart as a whip, incredibly funny, and a worldview that was refreshing at University School! Ahead of her time, I think she championed girls being able to wear the boys’ uniforms. She was a close friend and we each loved the other’s mother ... and standard poodles, too. She was a wonderful combination of all kinds of opposites and never ceased to delight and surprise. We kept in touch sporadically as adults ... and I will miss her.

Robin was such an important part of my life when we were neighbors in Bay View and for a few years after she moved to her dream home on the Lake. She was so smart, so well read, and could crack a joke that would stop me on a dime. I so admired her passion and commitment to equality and justice. Jim and I have been sharing memories. Our love to Gene and sympathy to family and friends.

Although Robin only appeared before me in court a couple of times, we had a close connection with the deep love of our dogs. Robin was a very wise and fun woman who could take you on challenging philosophical journeys. But most importantly she had an unbridled love and generosity for those in our community who were often voiceless. She was passionate in her love of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but I am sure her gifts will continue to twinkle among the stars.

What can I say about Robin? She was a passionate defender of those who had no voice. I felt privileged to be her friend. When I lived and worked in Milwaukee, we had a lot of good times. I remember that she loved M*A*S*H reruns, and those rambunctious poodles, and Gene, of course. Though we had lost regular touch over the past few years, I followed her occasionally online, and was proud that she was still fighting the fight. I saw the news report of her distress at the lake waters rising and biting off chunks of her property and noticed the distress on her face, and it saddened me; I also saw that she posted this just a few days ago about an acquaintance who had died: "There are some deaths that leave me without words. How can the dead be truly dead when they still live in the souls of those who are left behind."? I am bereft, yet Robin does still live in the souls left behind. Godspeed, my friend. We are all better to have known you.

(She gifted me a framed copy of a photo of her hugging client Felicia Morgan, a teenager she defended. It says everything about Robin's commitment to justice. She wanted me to remember. I will, always.)

Robin was a student representative to the MPS Board when I was a member. From our first meeting I knew she was someone very special and destined for great things. I enjoyed following her career through the media. My wife and I would sometimes give her a lift to the School Board meetings. As a parent with three daughters in their sixties, I can greatly empathize with you. I'm so proud that I knew her, and you have our deepest sympathy.
