To Bea and the entire Ceraso Family.
My heartfelt prayers go out to your family, for the loss of this great Man. I was a student of Mr Ceraso's at Maryland Avenue School in 1974-1975, and I can STILL, see Mr Ceraso's smiling face, and encouraging disposition, that he carried, in the classroom, and when he walked around the playground during recess and lunch. This is one teacher, who touched ALL who studied under him, and the influence he had on all of his students, is still with us today. My Parents knew him well, having 4 boys who had him as a teacher, and my Mother, sends out her thoughts and prayers to Beatrice and the Family, as well.
Keep smiling, Mr Ceraso. Heaven has a 7th grade teacher now.........

Dearest Ceraso Family:
I wanted to write and express my most sincere sympathy at Mr. Ceraso's passing. I was privileged to attend his funeral and committal service, which both spoke volumes about the kindness, love, and self sacrifice Mr. Ceraso shared with his family and others throughout his life.
I was also very fortunate to have spoken with many of you, and to have shared some of my most favorite memories of having Mr. Ceraso for my 7th grade teacher during the 1973 - 1974 school years at Maryland Avenue School.
During that school year I spent with Mr. Ceraso, I learned about so much more than just applying myself to my studies in reading, English, and math. I learned something about the fragile nature of our life here on this earth, through the stories he shared about the loss of his son Stanley to cancer.
Of course, I also have fond memories of his laugh, his kind and gentle manner, and of course the cotton candy machine each year at the school fair.
I know that I am a better person for having known Mr. Ceraso. Really, what better legacy can a man leave than his impact on the lives of others?
Again, my most sincere sympathy on your loss.
Best Regards,
Paul R. Rathkamp

Dear Liz,
I was out of town this past week, otherwise I would of been at the funeral. I lost my Father seven years a go and my Mother on the thrid of July. My heart breaks for your pain. I saw your Dad at the Befana in January at the ICC, as always he was singing your praises. Your Father was a kind man whose pride was infectious. I will never forget how sad I was for him and your family when Standley passed away. He had a strong spirit of power, love and faith. Hopefully his spirit will help you and your family during this time in your lives.

Dear Bea, Roseanne, Maryanne & Lizzy;
I'm sorry to hear of the loss of a dear family friend. There aren't enough words to express how his presence was felt on this Earth. He touched my life through his endless energy and encouragement not to mention his sense of humor. I know I was the only one who laughed at his joke about ‘joining him for dinner’. There is no doubt in my mind that he is in a special place now and at peace.
All our love,
Kristin (Nielsen) Poulter and family

I had Sam as a 5th grade teacher at Bartlett Ave Grade School and will always remember him with much kindness, I am now 62 and still remember how he would uplift my spirit...because of him I will always consider myself as "pleasantly plump", not fat! This is quite a testimony to him as a teacher, a friend, and a role model, that all of the pupils he had at Bartlett, remember him and hold him close to their hearts as I do...May these times ahead be of some comfort knowing that he touched so many with his kindness and that now he walks among the angels...The Matsuyama Family

I am 42 years old and had Mr. Ceraso as a teacher at Maryland Avenue. this was during the time when the school system decided to start bussing kids. Mr. Ceraso welcomed me and my sisters into this new school and helped shaped our lives. He will truly be missed.

I wasn't lucky enough to have Sam as a teacher at Bartlett, however, he was friend of the family & exceptionally close to my mother,
Marge Romano Hanley ... who thought the world of Sam. They're together now reminiscing. May your pain be short lived & your memories the food to get you through this.

To the family and loved ones of "Mr. Ceraso"....please know that he made a difference in so many lives. As a student at Maryland Ave. 30 years ago - I have always held fond memories of "Mr. Ceraso". Always, always a ready smile, a warm 'hello', asking how you were doing...all of the little things that makes a young person feel welcomed and special. Thank you Mr. Ceraso - and how would we have known, all those years ago, that your granddaughter, Jenna, would care for my children. Clearly, compassion and consideration for others is a family trait.
Best to all during this difficult time.

"Sam Ceraso, "Mr.Ceraso"
to me and my fellow students
who attended Bartlett Ave.
while he taught there many
years ago will always remember
him as a man we looked up to
with deep respect,while he
showed his respect for us,
as just a bunch of kids having
fun,and not knowing,at that time
in our lives, where the path would
lead us. His inspiration was to
teach, and that he did! But just
by watching him conduct himself
around us,and his peers,and his
fellow neighbors,we all lived near
by, was to watch a master at his
craft. The social graces was
another thing he taught to those
who were so fortunate to cross
his path, just by being there when
he started by just saying "Hello'.
Sam always "Mr. Ceraso" to me,
had it! And what a mark he has
left! This world was a better
place. God bless you "Sam" for
he certainly has blessed us for
having allowed us,at least me,
to be a fraction of your life.
Please accept my heart
felt condolences to his loving
family,friends from a guy like
me.
Ralph Wettstein.
