Scott Roberts Obituary

Scott E. Roberts, 41, of 428 Ridge Court, Kohler, died tragically on Friday, February 4, 2005 in southern Michigan due to an air crash. He died with his brother and business partner, Vance Roberts; business associate, Michael Borzcik; and pilot friend, Paul Riddle.

Scott was President and CEO of Plymouth Foam where he had worked since 1986. He and his brother assumed leadership of the company from their father, Tecwyn Roberts, who had started the company.

Scott was born in Akron, Ohio on July 11, 1963, the son of Tecwyn and Sara (Hartman) Roberts. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1981 and the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1986. He received his MBA from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. On June 7, 1986 Scott married the former Diana L. Deckter in Addison, Illinois.

Scott lived his life to the fullest. He was an active member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls where he had served as head of the Evangelism Committee and helped with the church's strategic planning. Scott was a past member of the Kohler Village Board and currently chaired the village's Tourism Committee. He was also an active member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), EPS Manufacturing Assoc., and the EAA in Oshkosh. Scott had many other interests including his love for flying, motorcycling, four-wheeling, boating, fishing, skiing, and traveling.

Scott was a very involved person, but the love and devotion for his family always came first. He was a loving husband to his wife, Diana; and a devoted father to his daughter, Carli; and son, Steven, both living at home. Scott is also survived by his parents, Tecwyn and Sara Roberts of North Fort Meyers, FL; one brother, Brad (Laura) Roberts of Plymouth, mother-in-law, Elizabeth Deckter of Addison, IL; two sisters-in-law, Diana (Mrs. Vance) Roberts of Plymouth, and Kathy (Ed) Akucewich of Chesterland, Ohio. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, his colleagues and associates at Plymouth Foam, and a host of many dear friends throughout the world.

A combined visitation for Scott and his brother, Vance, will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2005 from 2-8 p.m. at Salem UCC, located at 217 Salem Drive in Plymouth. Additional visitation for Scott will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday morning from 9-11 a.m.

A funeral service celebrating Scott's life will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler.

Aunt Sis and Uncle Tec,

I am so sorry. No words can express my sadness for you. No one can understand this type of tragedy and I have only prayed and must believe what we have always been preached...that God has a Master Plan for everyone.

You have not been off my mind since the moment I heard. Even though we are many miles away, I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers of strength are going to be continuously with you through this tough journey.

Lots of Love,

Diane
