I would like to share some special parts of a conversation that my brother and I had before we started our transplantation back on November 23rd 2011.
Stan and I had lunch at Friday's at Miller Park to have a heart to heart conversation. From our conversation… we both knew this was going to be a long road and truly understood the possible outcome!
Stan said that he was grateful for this opportunity for several reasons… which I would like to share some of them with you now.
He said whatever the outcome may be… he has already been blessed to be here with me having this conversation… Then Stan moved on to say, If time was not on his side, he was hoping to have the opportunity to spend whatever time he had left… spending it with his family that he is so Proud of (Esther, Stacy, Jeff, Matt and Duncan) as they all awaited the birth of his first grandson… which he did... and a lot more! Stan also wanted me to tell you that for every extended day he was given… he would be grateful for that day!!!
Even for the bad things that may have happened… (Not only to him… but to us as well) he wanted us to remember that…
Life is a gift... and be thankful for the bad things in life… for they opened your eyes to the good things you weren't paying attention to before!
And when you're going through something hard… and wonder where God is… remember the teacher is always quiet during a test.
For this, I thank you Stan… I now give you your (A+)… on your new journey in Life… Love ya forever! Your little brother Dan!!!

I am one of the many lucky people that have been able to call Stan my friend. He truly and I mean truly was a great testament for the human race. Compassionate, funny, aloof, serious,
I could go on and on. The battle he fought against this dreadful disease will not go in vane, many people in the future will benefit from what the medical community learned from his heroic fight. May the Lord Jesus Christ give comfort to all of Stan's loved one's during this most difficult of times. Keep a seat ready for me Stan we've got some poker to play.

To the Peplinski family,
I know I don't need to tell you this, but what an AWESOME person Stan was!!!! I still remember when I met him at Brady about 27 years ago. He was always smiling & happy...and he never changed! He had one of the best attitudes of anyone I know.
You just have to remember all the good & happy times. The love of family and friends is the biggest comfort during this time. It's one of God's blessings to us to be able to have that.
My sincerest sympathy goes out to your family.

Wow where do I begin? I will always remember you as one of Robins best friends,a great friend of our family and just a "nice guy" The incident you helped my mom out with in Berryland is still a topic at our family get togethers at times!!! I would see you, Esther and your kids at some of Robin and Laurie's events. Always a smile.I remember the time I was at a semipro FB game and looking out in the field thinking hhmmm NO WAY!!! Then at 1/2 time you came over and said Hey (after my big hug)..what are you doing here.I told you my oldest son Tim played and you said NO WAY Timmy? He's yours? He is one of the most polite players, a "really nice kid", is that big boy really yours!! I was so happy to hear you say that. Then for a long time every Sat or Sun. I got the chance to talk to you........ missed you. How great was it to see the look on your face when some of our family came to your benefit..(by the way that was my Seagrams you beat me to..hope you enjoyed it!)Gonna miss you Stanley I will think of you at every FB game. My Families thoughts will always be with you and yours..Love Marie(June)and Bob

Dear family of Stan I want to express my Prayers and Thoughts to all of you. God may ask you to do difficult things. Feel free to ask him to provide another way. Just remember that his answer may be to provide you the strength you need to move ahead as planned. During this time God will take you in different directions from where you want to go. But let him guide you to the Love in his Heart, the goodness, and most of all his faithfulness no matter what the circumstance is. This is what Your husband and father would want of you. Let God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Stan,
To the best neighbor a family could ever ask for. I can remember when you first moved next to us, you came and knocked on the door, introduced yourself, and asked "whose fence is that between the houses?" I asked why and you said I just ran into it. We laughed about that for years afterwards. Our kids grew up together and are still very close friends to this day. You were like a father to our kids and a grandfather to their children. We have so very many special memories of all the years we have known you. What a truly special person you are. We will always remember you in our hearts as a very wonderful person. If only the world had more of you, what a wonderful place this would be. Your personality was priceless, you always made everyone laugh, and never said anything bad about anyone. It was a pleasure to play cards with you, or just sitting around and talking, and even having a few drinks.
We will miss you terribly. Until we see you again, please look down on us with that smile of yours. Rest in peace dear friend. We Love You,

Whether Stan was whistling me for technical fouls, calling me out at the plate or taking my money in a card game, he did it all with class.
By all indications he lived his life and fought his last battles the same way.
He will be missed.

Dear Esther, Stacey & Jeffrey,
I recall at Stacey's wedding, Stanley had just been diagnosed. Jeffrey cancelled his plans to compete overseas in a martial arts tournament. ( this is my recall, forgive me if I'm wrong). Stanley was very weak but mustered the energy for a father daughter dance. Esther was beaming! We have a beautiful memory of your mutual love for each other. We will miss Stan's cheerful teasing. Love, Karla & Tory

In remembrance of Stan and his life -
John 6:40
For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life.
My talks with Stan give me joy to know that he is there with Jesus, and one day I will see him again, viewing him in a whole and new body, without worry or pain. Thank you Stan for being such a Blessing to so many of us. With your strength and perseverance. Now you have your greatest reward. Rest for now and we'll one day see you again.
To Stan's family and friends. You and God are the basis for what he lived, fought and endured for. What better way for a man's life to be measured. You were and are truly Loved. God Bless each of you at this time.

Dear Stan,
We along with other friends grew up together in the housing projects of Milwaukee. We played basketball, baseball, football, and just about ever other sport we could think of. You were so proud of your bottle cap board game we played for hours on the Berryland playground. You thought you were the champion of the world.I still do not remember the name of that stupid game we played with popsical sticks to hit the bottle caps You were crazy about. Stan you thought you were so tough when you did something like 800 push ups at one time and dared us to do them too. I did not believe you so you did them in front of me the next day. Unreal!!
You played cards like a pro and couldn't wait to laugh when you won and say it is all in the CARDS. The only way I could beat you was not to play you. We had a great time growing up. Everyone wanted to be like STANLEY. All the girls loved STANLEY, and no one had a better caring, fun, helpful, positive personality then Stan the man.
All the ball games, delivering the Sunday paper in 100 degree below weather with Craig and getting breakfest out of it (of coarse you got paid and saved your money) going swimming at mcgovern park, lannon quarry, lake keasus, freis lake, the fireworks, the army barricks, the talks we had well sleeping out in our tents, the Christmas tree forts, the Catholic dances battle of the bands,Edison Jr.High, Custer High School, the proms, standing up for each other's weddings and talking about how proud we were to have found the right girls and stay married all these years. Talking about our kids, you are Kristi's God father and she is a jock like you with a super attiude you would be proud of , our grandchildren, are parents challenges, and our dreams Stan.
WE DID IT.
All this good stuff and great times and memories Stan but the ones I will remember the most is you positive attitude with your battle with cancer. You never gave up in all the conversations we had the past few years.Your belief in God has inspired me again my friend and has taken you to where we all want to be someday. You Stan are the man and are one of my Hero's. I will carry these memories in my heart untill we meet again someday in heaven where maybe I can take your money in cribbage and make you feel better by saying it "is all in the cards". You did play all the right cards in life Stan. You found a bueatiful wife and have wonderful kids who like their Dad and Mom are good caring people. We love you and we will miss you my friend.
Rest in peace finally pal.We will all keep you in our hearts and see you again one day.
With Love,
Robin,Laurie, the Jennings Family, Deloris Bojar and Scottie Milosch
