Stephen Matula Obituary

Of Boulder Junction, WI - passed away unexpectedly at the age of 47, on August 19, 2005. Beloved husband of Colleen (Gardner) Matula and proud father of 4 year old Erin. He is survived by his parents, Patricia and Gary Matula of Springstead, WI; his brother, John Matula of Barre, Vermont and his sister, Laurie Matula-Bahr (Eric) of Hartland, WI. He is further survived by Godson Adam Chartier, his mother-in-law, brothers in-law and sisters-in-law and nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Emily Borgiasz of Springstead, WI.

Stephen was a 1976 graduate of Arrowhead High School, Hartland, WI and was a 1982 graduate of UW-Stevens Point College with a B.S. in biology. He worked for the Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources at Trout Lake in Boulder Junction. Stephen was a forestry technician and a wildland firefighter. He was with the Department for 25 years.

Visitation will be held at Bolger's Funeral Home, Woodruff, WI on August 24, 2005 from 4PM to 8PM with a prayer service at 7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann's Parrish in Boulder Junction, WI at 10AM on August 27, 2005, with a reception immediately following at the Boulder Junction Fire Station.

Memorials in lieu of flowers will be deposited to the Erin Matula college fund.
