Steve and I grew up in Warren, Michigan and spent the first 13 years of our lives together doing what boys do. We have visited and stayed in touch since then. Steve has had and will continue to have an amazing impact on everyone he touched, which was just about everyone he met. A great father, husband, teacher and friend, he has set the bar pretty high for the rest of us. He also leaves a great legacy in his wonderful wife and two beautiful children. He left me pondering how much better I can be, and how much work I have left to do. I will never have a friend like him again and consider myself fortunate to have known Steve for as long as I did. He had more positive impact in his short stay, than I could have if I were to live 200 years. Yes, he was THAT special. Goodbye, my dearest friend, rest well with the Lord. We will do our best to pick up where you left off.

Dear Debbie, You have been an inspiration to all of us at Karen's. Your faith in God and your strength has shown us that God truly will see us through all things, no matter how hard. We love you and pray for you and we know that Steve is now resting comfortably in the presence of our Savior Jesus Christ. May He bless you with peace and wonderful memories all the days of your life.

Debbie, Erin, and Kelly,

I only had the opportunity to meet Steve once. It was on a trip he took to Michigan with Roald Johannsen. We played a round of golf (which I believe was his only full round in sometime)and it was here that I was introduced to Steve's wonderful sense of humor and his will and determination to overcome any obstacle. He talked about his battle with cancer and the love and support he received from his family. His positive attitude made me feel like I could accomplish just about anything! And although none of us played exceptionally well that day, we had a fantastic time and it is a day that I will always remember.

Steve was a wonderful person and colleague. We knew each other because of business. He touched everyone at 3M Company. We will miss his smiling face and his wonderful way.
