I remember Tanya from our Hollins days. She was graceful, kind, and generous with her friendship, though we were not close. It was a small college/university, and so whenever I was with Tanya, I admired her quick laugh and ability to listen. (Gwenyth Mapes, Hollins University, class of 1984)

Saddened to read in the Hollins Magazine of Tanyas passing. I attended Hollins with Tanya. I didn't know her well, but as a classmate we often times ran into each other. She was always kind and genuine. So sorry for your loss.

Today is Thanksgiving and I would like to tell you how thankful I am to have had Tanya as a best friend. Although I had not seen Tanya in many years, from the time we met in 6th grade until we parted when Tanya changed high schools, we were inseparable as only two girls that are taller than all the boys can be. We called each other cream puff and talked non-stop about friends, boys, clothes and our future during our continuous sleep overs. I have a special memory of the beautiful, hand made, multi page birthday cards Tanya made for me every year. I am sharing a few pages of one of these cards as well a a few photos. Much love to you Tanya and your family, I miss you.

Tanya will be greatly missed. We met at Bryant school and taught together for several years. She loved her job and the children loved her. We stayed close and I was happy when her adventures led her back to the Bay Area. Tanya made the best of her circumstances and truly thought she would get better. I am so sad she is gone and will miss our conversations and texting. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family. I also am thinking of Hector her cat. Love to all!

Tanya was one of the most resilient and tenacious client/friends I have known. She was a gift to me - to witness her determination in the face of mountainous health issues at a young age. I hold her closely.

I was saddened to hear of Tanya's passing. I had not seen her in many years, but we grew up together at Westtown School. I have many wonderful memories of her bright smile and indomitable spirit . In my mind I see her with a group of friends in the snow sledding down the hill on South lawn of plastic lunch trays. She is missed!
I will be holding her and her family 'In the light'

Tanya was such a lovely person. Such a loss. My heart goes out to the family with sympathy. I also must say that Tanya and I had the best day ever a few weeks ago. Both of us with our walkers strolling down the lakefront. We had many people doing double takes and so many smiles as bikers and runners went past us on the sidewalk. Sunny skies and hours of talking, reminiscing, laughing...What a gift of kindness Tanya gave that gorgeous day...so positive, hopeful and ready for our next walk - along the River. Thank you Tanya for your friendship and best day ever! I sure was blessed. Rest In Peace. XO
