As we try to get back to some version of normal, one person I will sorely miss in that picture is Tom Murphy. I will miss his sense of humor, his ability to listen and sympathize, his sharp perception of the "human condition" with all its flaws and strengths. He had a fierce love of life, which makes it all the more disappointing that he is gone. But as they say about sports figures, he held nothing back. He left it all on the field.

More than a friend, more than family. Tom was a constant in my life for many years. He taught me how to move through life with grace and integrity. His wicked wit will be missed.

What can you say about the craziest and kindest old man I ever met. This guy held me when I was at my lowest but taught me how to pick myself up. Many years ago I bought a bunch of old furniture from Tom, including a large mirror. There was a time when I could never look myself in a mirror but that mirror hangs in my living room and I think of Tom every single time I walk into the room. And thanks in large part to Tom, I can look into that mirror. Just love him and miss him.
