I am greatly saddened by this news and my condolences to Jan and the rest of the family. I just read about Tom's passing today through the PCA Steinlifter's article and I was shocked. I drove by his neighborhood last week wondering how they were doing in this strange pandemic time. I met Tom in the early 90s and he hired me to rebrand and rename SEWCIL. The results was a long relationship with IndependenceFirst that was very good for my design and marketing business over the years. We talked about Thomas More and Pius XI rivalries, we talked about wrestling, we talked design and furniture design, we talked about Porsches. Tom and I always had something to talk about and poor Jan spent hours in my driveway as they would randomly pop in on a trip to Big Bend and it would turn into a half hour or more conversation on my porch or driveway. Then I finally bought a Porsche 4 years ago and who is the first person I had to go visit and get his approval? It was Tom. So many great stories and conversations. He truly was a great advocate for me and my work and he will never be forgotten as I have 2 pieces of Knoll furniture I bought from him 25 years ago when they replaced them and he wanted them to "go to a good owner" who understood great design. They are beautiful and Tom was such a beautiful person. Rest in peace my friend. God bless. I would love to talk to the family, feel free to call anytime or email me. [email protected] 414.628.3976

With great sympathy our hearts go out to the family. Tom will be greatly missed. With Covid 19 protocols, we are looking forward to a remembrance in July at the Beer, Brats & Bathtubs event at Road America.
Our Condolences.

Saddened to hear of Tom's passing. He was a fine gentleman and always enjoyed planning DB reunions and the coffee at Mcdonalds. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family during this sad time.

Dear Jan, Mark and family,
On behalf of my family and the St Thomas More colleagues who worked with, and were blessed to know Tom, I would like to offer my condolences. He brought enthusiasm and joy into our efforts to support the students and staff of our school. I am sorry I am unable to express my sympathy in person, but rest assured Tom, and your entire family will be in my prayers. God bless.
