Sorry to hear this sad news. Tom and Gene served on the committee for A Night in Old Vienna Ball for many, many years, and were key players in the success of the ball. My sincere condolences.

I was surprised and sorry to see that Tom has died. His dad was my dad's half uncle, and I do remember Uncle Sylvin. My brother, Jack, and I visited with Tom and shared family history and pictures. Through the years Tom and I would have brief visits at Fleet and Farm.

Gene, Tim and Mary - I’m saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. I have many fond memories of skiing and hanging out with your family growing up. I remember him smiling while driving around in that little dune buggy car. He was a great guy and will be missed.

Dear Weiland Family,
I have fond memories of the many years I worked with Tom at Frank Mayer and Associates. He was a pleasure to work with and a friend away from work. He even put up with my lack of skiing skills.
May he Rest In Peace,

Tim and Family,
I was very sorry to learn about your father's death. He was one of the first patrollers to welcome me to Sunburst. He was a special person. I liked his teaching style. While he was totally capable and competent in all patrol skills, he was kind and humorous as he taught them.
The year that the "shooters" were introduced to chair evac training, he and I were wondering how high the line would carry, so we shot straight up thinking that projectile would come pretty much straight down. It went high enough to be blown about 25 yards away from us. When it came down it dinged a visiting patroller who had been complaining about the refresher. We both agreed that it was a great shot.
The National Ski Patrol and the ski industry is going to miss him and his contributions. While I am sure that you and your family are feeling a great loss, take heart in the knowledge that there is a community of friends who share that loss and are offering support in this time of need.
