It is with great sadness that I learned of Ann and Will's passing today. He was my college adviser at UW-M, as well as a professor. I also was privileged to work with him for many years at Hal Leonard. Rest in peace - your mark will be seen for generations.

To Will & Ann's family,
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your parents. I worked for them while in graduate school and I will always remember them both and kind and talented. Life well done! Peace be with you all.

I have had the pleasure of participating in 4 of Will's WMD workshops. What a wonderful leader he was! Great sense of humor, and always so focused on making music. I have not been able to participate in workshops lately as I have been working on an Ed. D. I learned of Will's declining health from a friend who attended a workshop before Will's passing earlier this summer. When he told me that Will was so gravely ill, I was deeply saddened. The world has lost a true visionary, and we are all better people because of his life. I know that as I fall asleep at night I will hear the strains of "Woyaya" coming to me as I listen to Will teaching the Angels in Heaven how to sing. Rest in Peace Will !

My deepest sympathy to the Schmid family at the loss of Ann, and now Will. They were kind people and passionate about music. The Stringalong weekends sponsored by the UWM Folk Center are among my treasured memories.

Dear Will: I am so sad that you have passed. Music Education has lost one of the greats! I appreciated your support over the years, and the wonderful letter you wrote for my promotion. I am forever indebted to you for the insightful work you have given our profession. You have been an inspirational friend and role model to me and countless others. I remember fondly good times, your wonderful sessions at conferences, and of course great music making. I send much love, respect, and heartfelt thanks for all you have done. Your legacy lives on forever!

We've lost a dear friend. Will was a beacon of integrity, sincerity, caring and honesty, but especially love. It was a joy working with him so many years ago. Losing both Will and Ann truly leaves our world poorer.

It is with great sadness that I read of Will's passing this morning, so shortly after Ann died in May. Will was one of my dearest colleagues at UWM, and I always respected and admired his spirit, gentle humor and wonderful friendship during our many years together on the music faculty. RIP Will!

This is so sad that he and Ann left this world in such a short time. I had great respect for both of them.

Thank God for Will & his passionate drive to share music with the world - he will not be forgotten! Please know that he was highly regarded by all, and that he made a difference in this world.
