Barry Stuart Obituary
Barry was born on July 6, 1967 in Sandpoint Idaho. After the family moved to Yakima, WA and graduating in 1986 from West Valley High School, Barry continued his education perfecting the Welding trade, which he proudly enjoyed for over 20 years. His quick wit and soft smile could make you laugh on your hardest days. If you knew him, you loved him and his numerous stories he had. After years in the Yakima, WA area, Barry found himself in Juneau, Alaska. Alaska was where he truly was meant to be. He loved everything Juneau and SE Alaska had to offer. Whether you found him enjoying his work at The Plumbing and Heating company, Bowling Alley, Sportsman's Warehouse, Kenniston Mine, AIH or in the outdoors shooting photography and watching wildlife, he was always willing to help out anyone and enjoyed the little things. In 2016 he met the love of his life, Wendy, and they were married in 2018. Both loving the outdoors, they enjoyed a life of adventure together. Summers were spent hiking, fishing, hunting, foraging, fires on the beach, camping and anything outdoors.
He is survived by his wife Wendy Hafer, daughter Cassie Seekins, Step-son Tristin Hafer (Sarah) , Step-daughter Brennen Hafer,. Grandchildren Kailey Clayton and Brooklynn Seekins. Parents James and Eleanor Stuart , Sister Lanora Stuart. Nieces and Nephews Eleanor Stuart, Ciarra Faught, James Stuart and Zack Stai.
There will be a memorial service at 11am on April 6th, 2025 at Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church, 8198 Keegan St Juneau, Alaska.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for the summer at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to complete a memorial bench.

I remember Uncle Barry being around a lot when I was little. He had given me a white bear with a red sweater with a red heart on it that I named after him and still have to this day. He made me laugh a lot as a kid. I found his photography so fascinating when I was little. I liked talking about photography with him when we visited him in Alaska when I was a preteen. I'll always remember walking on a nature trail, getting car sick going from one end of Juneau to another, and a glaciar exhibit thing. He took us to a store where I bought a couple skirts that still fit and one of them I still have. It was a very fun time! I enjoyed the trip a lot. It was also so nice to see him again in November when he visited the lower 48. I really enjoyed reconnecting these last 10 months. I will miss him, but I know he's in a better place now. At peace.
