Ted Vadman Obituary

Ted L. Vadman passed away on March 3rd 2021 in Yuma AZ after battling kidney failure. He was 82 years old.

He was the son of Luella M. and Carl Albert Theodore Vadman of Amery Wisconsin.

He enjoyed cooking at an early age and later in high school he took cooking classes. He joined the Coast Guard in 1955 and served four years. He spent a year in Minneapolis then moved to Juneau, Alaska in 1960.

In 1967 he met Patricia (Gray) Rowland, her three children and her mother. In 1968 in he married Patricia.

That he didn't tuck his tail and run, we will always be grateful.

He was a great husband, father, big brother, boss, coworker and friend to many in Juneau and Yuma.

He was well known around Juneau for his outgoing personality and easy going attitude. During his years in Juneau he was a produce manager for Foodland, one of the original partners of the Breeze In, a food and liquor salesman, owner of PJ's Restaurant, employee of Alaska Marine Highways and Department of Corrections.

To keep busy after retiring he cooked meals at Mountain View Senior Center and later drove a tour bus, named 'Ted' for Princess Tours. One of the highlights of his tour was taking people to the log cabin, 'Chapel by the Lake' where he and Pat were married.

Ted & Pat moved to Yuma in 2004. Once they got settled Ted volunteered as a driver for Helping Hands.

Ted was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, his parents, his sister Carol Mae (Vadman) Igtanloc and son-in-law Arnold Villegas.

He is survived by his children, Richard Rowland of Anchorage AK, Donnet (Rowland) Villegas of Yuma and Stew & Mindy (Bryson) Rowland of Juneau, his grandchildren, Nichole (Rowland) Lynn & Evan (& great grandson, Kasen) of Anchorage, Justice Rowland of Anchorage & Rowan Villegas of Yuma, his sister Nancy (Vadman) Kuntzmann & Paul of Portland OR, and several nieces & nephews.

Services may be announced at a later date. Donations may be made to Helping Hands or the Kidney Foundation.

Psalm 23,
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He
maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he
leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth
my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of
righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I
walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod
and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a
table before me in the presence of mine
enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my
cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy
shall follow me all the days of my life: and I
will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Ted was a good shepherd and I am forever grateful.

My condolences to all the family & so sorry to hear. I've know Ted for many years, with his being a liquor salesman when I was at the Baranof Hotel & then with his ventures in the food/restaurant businesses. Ted was a good friend & great all around guy. Terry Baxter NZ
