Ila Vadman Obituary

Memorial services for Milly Vadman will be held at Vessels of Honor, 225 Chester Ave., on March 1st, 1:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent starting Friday, February 29th. Our beloved Mother, Grandma, Ole Smokie and Friend went from our arms into the arms of her Savior on February 8, 2008. Waiting to greet her on the other side were her parents, Ernst and Faye Gomillion; siblings, Bill, Glen, Valera and Greta; 2 husbands, Roy Stokes and Ken Vadman; 4 sons-in-law, Mickey Gorum, Ronald Frye, Jim Steed and Burleigh Smith (whom she loved dearly); granddaughter, Lori Frye; and many other family and friends. Milly was proud to be a Texan but lived in southern California for 35 years, then here in Bakersfield for the past 23 years. She was young at heart and enjoyed being surrounded by her grand and great-grandkids. She loved cooking for her family, going to Las Vegas and was passionate about Country music. (She was a life member of the Kern Co. Country Museum). Milly is survived by her 3 brothers and their families, Howard, Ray and Jackie Gomillion; 6 daughters, Wanda Lou, Carrol Jean, Diana Faye, Billie Kaye, Royce Ann and Debbra Sue; sons-in-law, Allen, Daucie, Harley, Ed and Dennis; two sons, Don and Guy Glen Stokes and Don's wife, Candice; her stepchildren, Janet and Mike, Lawrence and family, and Diane and family; grandchildren and spouses, Randy, David and Cathy, Keri, Kelly and James, Rick and Irma, Guy, Terry and Larry, Staci and Donald, Phil and Kristine, Paige and Don, Kristina and Bootz, Wes and Gloria, Ronnie and Aimie, Chris and Chelsea, Jason, Brent, Jaime, Tracy, Crystal, Meagan, Landon and Cullen; 26 great and 8 great-great- grandchildren. The family would like to express our love to our brother, Don Stokes, who lovingly cared for our mother the past few years. he enabled her to stay home where she wished to be. Well grandma, it's been 16 years now since you've been gone, but I just want to let you know that I still feel your presence in my heart every single day. I see your smile and hear your voice calling me. I know without a doubt that the day will come that our entire family will be together again laughing and carrying on at the throne of our Savior. I love you Grandma!

We love and miss all of you very much! P.S. Take care of our Justin and tell him that His Mother and Myself miss him and love him! We will all meet up on that glorious day and rejoice with our Lord and Savior for all eternity in peace and joy!

Well, Grandma, it's been 15 years now since you left us. I'm sure that you already know that my sin, your grandson Justin has join you and my mom and all of the rest of our family there in Heaven. The world is in a bad way right now. Most of us left here have just about had enough. As for myself, I await the time to reunite with all of you to sit at the foot of the throne of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. I love and miss all of you more now then ever.
