Heidi Mendez

Heidi Jean Thibodaux Mendez, a life-long resident of Houma, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at the age of 53. Heidi was the heart and core of her family. Her sons were her life, and she poured her heart into being their mother, but her grandchildren were her eyes, and she loved them fiercely. Heidi cherished time spent camping, laughing with loved ones, and cooking-especially during the holidays when her potato salad was a must-have. She never met a stranger and was known to go above and beyond for her family and friends. She made a huge impact on the lives of others that will not be forgotten. Heidi will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Diego Jasso (Emery), Kerry Thibodaux and Carlos Flores Jr. (Hailey); grandchildren, Alayaa, Kee'an & Davi and two on the way, Knox & Aubriella; father, Gary Thibodaux (Betty); siblings, Sharidee Thibodaux, Tina Thibodaux and Corey Thibodaux (Angie); godchildren, Gavyn Thibodaux, Gabriel Cardenas, Natalie Thibodaux and Andrea Cardenas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy H. Suarez; grandmother, Shirley Arcement; and godsons, Christopher Bergeron and Blake Bergeron. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Samart Funeral Home (4511 West Park Ave., Gray) from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
