Dear Jereldeen, Judy, Jenna, Jill, and Stephen ... Periodically, I "Google" names of old friends from Wichita days. So one day this week, I "Googled" the name "David Edwin Harpool", and found the notice of David's death and funeral. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. If you read this and want to contact Diane and me, please do so at:

I finished graduate school at Tufts, Harvard, and Oxford in 1989, and Diane and I moved from Boston to Seattle in 1990. Diane works in one of the branches of the Seattle Public Library system (Beacon Hill branch), and I work at Boeing as a web-software developer -- though I expect to retire sometime in the next year or 2. In August, Diane and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. No kids.

Judy, Jenna and Jill - I was so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I remember him as a gentle, Godly man. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

"My Stars" & "Holy Cow" are the worst expressions that I ever heard Dave say. I worked for him scrubbing floors as a young man. When I 'messed up' and cost Dave money he would say "My Stars" and we would re-do the work. I worked for Dave the summer that his arthritis was real bad. He wore 'brown jersey' gloves to keep his fingers flexible. One of my jobs was to take the lids off of the wax buckets.Dave is one of the men, along with my dad & some other Godly men, that God used to make me what I'am now.I still have a picture in my mind of the time we were going to work, about dark, one summer night. While waiting for Dave to come out of the house I looked in the back door window. I say Dave sitting on a chair in the middle of the room reading the Bible. The 'man of God' preparing for the nights work. That moment is special to me. I look forward to seeing him again.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Brother Harpool was a very special man, he will always hold a special place in my heart. It's a comfort knowing that Brother David is with our Lord and Savior. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
