Dennis, when my mom married you I was so very happy for her. She was finally happy and I got extra siblings to boot! For that I loved you. When less than a year later my daddy passed you held me as I cried and did everything for me that you did for your biological kids. For that I loved you. When I was a crazy, rebellious, silly, angsty teenager you were there for the good and the bad. For that i loved you. You walked me down the aisle, when my daddy couldn't, you stood by my side thru my decision that the marriage wasn't right. You love my daughter as if she were blood and for that I loved you. You were everything a girl could need from a dad. Above all you loved my mom wholly and completely. For that I love you most. I may not be your #1 child. We may not have talked often or did things often but I never for a second doubted your love for me and mine. Thank you. Thank you for all the shoulders you gave for my tears and for your strength. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for being a dad when you didn't have to to a girl that lost her dad. You are already so missed. Already so many tears have been shed for you and I'm sure will continue to come. Thank you for helping to meld me into the woman I am today and showing me daily what a healthy loving relationship looks like. All I had to do was look at you and mama.

I hope that time with family helps ease the heartache you feel. I did not know Dennis, but I realized he was a distant relative when I saw the name Beden in the newspaper. As a kid, I fondly remember the 2 Cecils and Paul. (My mother was Lola Hutchinson and my maiden name was Fennell) I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear ones, lifting you in light, and love, and prayer during this time and the days ahead. God graced our lives with the life of this good man - a son, brother, friend, husband, brother-in-law, father, grandfather, great-grandpa, hard worker, a fella who laughed, played, loved, lived fully, and so much more. I'm thankful for his presence in my life, the great memories, and for sharing my birth year with Dennis (yay, 1951)! It has been a blessing and joy to me to see the loving relationships flourish the last few years between him and his children. He will be always in our hearts, ever in God's loving embrace.
