Dear Clem, Shirley, Becky & Russ:
I am so sadden to hear of Emily's tragic death. The news story caught my attention because it was in El Dorado. As the story unfolded I realized you were the family 2-doors down we played with when we all lived on Ford Street. I cannot imagine your sorrow and cannot get your tragedy off of my mind. As has been said, we are not supposed to bury our children; but especially not from a senseless tragedy. I hope you receive answers to all of the other questions you have of Emily's death in the short interim to help in your time of grief. Emily was a beautiful girl, obviously full of spirit and determination. I know you will always wonder how far her dreams and aspirations could have taken her. As you lay Emily to rest, please remember to keep a part of her spirit in your heart and let that spark guide you as you grieve Emily’s death. Above all please know my family is with your family in thought and prayer. Moreover, please know we will be praying for answers and justice to come to your family in the coming weeks ahead. I am a producer at a T.V. station in Wichita. Emily's story has saddened our newsroom and haunted me personally. I have faith that Emily is smiling down upon you..her loving family...for all of the love you showed her in the days she went missing. May she rest in peace and may you all find some comfort in knowing she now will watch over you all.

Your daughter was a beautiful woman and a gift from God. Her classmates all speak highly of her and are truely dimished by her loss. As a father I can understand your loss but not the depth of your feelings of hurt and loss. I can only imagine that her smiling face was just a glimpse into the person that is Emily. Keep in your hearts the laughter and joy that she shared with you. The great loss is that now no one else will ever get to experience that gift. There will more difficult days ahead but lean on God and hold your daughter in your hearts. As when she was an infant you spoke for her, you will need to do so again in the days ahead.
You will be in my prayers as will Emily but rest assured that she is now at rest in the house of God. May he bless you and strenghten you in the days ahead until you are once again united with her.

Clara & Families; My heart is sadden with your loss. Just know you have many people, friends and family who are thinking of you and praying for God to give you the strength you need during this horrible time in your life. I didn't know Emily, but our daughter graduated with her. She says she was beauitful, smart and fun person who was always smiling. She must of taken after her beautiful mom. I am one of the millions of people who have heard about Emily Sander. I never knew her or her family but this whole story saddened me a great deal. I don’t normally do these types of things but, I felt the need to express my deepest sympathy to the family for their loss. Remember that your loss is shared by millions people who care and that you're in our thoughts and hearts and in our every prayer, May you find the courage to face tomorrow in the love that surrounds you today. I am one of the millions of people in the country who have been hearing about Emily Sander. Looking at pictures of her with her friends and family, I can see that she was very loved. And she was strikingly beautiful as well. My heart goes out to her family and friends. It's gonna be tough, but you will all make it through this. Emily needs you all to be strong.
I pray that justice will be served and family and friends can finally find closure.
Emily's legacy will live on.

I, myself, am a young woman and to think there is someone out there that could take the promise and dream from another young woman is completely disheartening. My thoughts and prayers go out to Emily and her family. Her 18 years were lived to the fullest, I hope, and may she rest in peace.
Our lives are such fragile things. It would do us all well to remember how easily they can escape us. Why would someone want to take that away? Especially before someone so young as Miss Emily Sander who has just begun to learn of her potential.

You and I were friends through middle school up until highschool. I dont know what pulled us away from eachother when we went to highschool, but all the memories of you I have do nothing but make me smile. From joking around with you, Barbara, Steph, and Ash during our lunchtimes... to dancing goofy with you at the dances. You have so many people left here that loved you so much.
