Wichita, Kansas - Gary D. Mazurek, born Aug. 13, 1939, went to play golf with his beloved son, Andrew, on October 27, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vicki; his son, John and his wife, Diann; and grandchildren he adored, Benedict and Jared. Additional survivors include his brother, David Mazurek, and sister Barbara Loftness, both in Minnesota, and Mary Warren of Arizona, and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew, parents Benedict and Margie Mazurek, and sisters Sally Doty and DeAnna Mazurek.
Gary was born in Northfield, MN – the town that defeated Jessie James and makes Malt-O-Meal. He served in the Navy from 1956 to 1960 traveling the world aboard the USS Fechler. He and Andy operated a business for many years and, after retirement, volunteered his time to many organizations. He was an avid golfer and fisherman who loved life.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made in his name to the Council #883 of the Knights of Columbus. Internment, at Ascension Cemetery, will take place later in the day for family.
