I just found out that my friend George had past last fall. He and I were long time model airplane pilots and had many happy times together including staying at his house when I was in town from St. Louis. I miss by buddy.

I am a distant cousin from Southwest Iowa on his mother's side of the family and saw George's obituary posted on our local radio station website. I remember Jimmy and Rosemary and believe I met George a couple of times as I was growing up. I have fond memories of his grandparents, Clyde and Rema. Anyway, I wanted to express my condolences to his wife and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I am so fortunate to have George as my host father, my one and only American father! You gave me a year of wonderful memories, one year full of exciting stories and experiences. That one year stays in my heart forever! I love you and miss you!

I have had the privilege of being George and Judy's next door neighbor for 23 years. My son went to prom with Courtney one year. George looked after me and loaned me his shop vac when I had water in my basement. He helped me when my husband and I divorced. He gave me advice and support when I needed it. I will miss him very much. George was such a good man and bragged to me about his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of all of you. God bless.

George was always full of stories and knew how to make you smile. He gave our youngest son his first job and taught him how to work. Loved to go see him and get a hug. We will always have a spot for George in our hearts. Love to his family and prays for peace.

I always remember looking forward to what George would say when I showed up to see Courtney. I recall conversations that still make me laugh but I also remember him telling Lindsey sweet stories about Courtney and Jared when we watched some home movies of them as toddlers. He was a good man that left a great impression!

I've known George and the family for about 26 years. Although I knew Courtney, Lindsey, Jared and Judy the most, I'll always remember how much he loved them and the grandkids. I enjoyed talking motorcycles with him and hearing the stories about his road trips with his riding buddies. He was a good man, and his legacy will live on in the fantastic family he and Judy raised. My love and hope for peace and comfort to the family in the coming days.

I have many great memories of George growing up! He had so much fun giving us a hard time. How patient he was to have driven a carload of 8th grade girls to Kansas City and back (from Wichita) all in one night for a New Kids on the Block concert. He even let us shoe polish the car. Just thinking about George brings a smile to my face. I'm so very sorry. You are all in my thoughts.

I am truly blessed to have had George Knapple as my father-in-law. George was a great storyteller and he had a photographic memory. He could remember things from 50 years ago like it was yesterday. He was a big jokester and he loved his grandkids very, very much. We enjoyed many great times together with some of the best being the motor home trips we took as a family. I will miss him greatly.
