My condolences to all the family and friends of Jack Chester. I am deeply saddened to learn of Jack's passing. He will always be remembered as a great friend with a soft heart. I remember when we moved to Wichita in 1971 and lived with our cousins in Country Acres. That's when the Padilla's introduced us to their cool friends "The Chester's". That's when I first met Jack. Needless to say but the Chester's were some of the loudest and funnest to be around so there were always kids coming and going all the time! When the music was blasting Jack was probably there! Jack was such a sweet and funny guy that I couldn't stay mad at him too long even after he got us in trouble in class. I have so many wonderful memories of celebrating our birthdays at the Winfield Blue Grass Festival and partying at the campgrounds! Jack lived life to the fullest and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him as a caring, compassionate and lovable man with a great sense of humor! Rest in Peace and I'll see you in another lifetime brother!

The first time I meet Jack is with Jenny at W.S.U. . He made me feel so welcome because I was many miles away from home. He was my "big brother" from Wichita. He made me laugh, smile and feel very comfortable. When I went back to Wichita, I always looked forward to seeing Jack at the lake or around. I will miss him and God took a good one. My hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Love you, Jack.

Jack was always like a big brother to me. We all strive to leave this world a better place. Jack accomplished that by filling his time here with laughter, love and positive energy. I was thinking yesterday of the thousands of times he has made me laugh. The fact he will be so missed by so many speaks to what a great man he was.

Jack was my friend when I didn't have many as a kid. No matter how much time would pass between us, we would pick up where we left off and it was always good. Godspeed to you, Jack! May your family be at peace, too.

Jenny and family; my heart goes out to you all. These last years have been so difficult for the Chester family. My first memory of Jack was walking into Lindy's. He was so welcoming and friendly, he made it seem like he was just waiting for you to show up.I see by the entries in this guest book that he had a way of making everyone feel that way. What a special man, he will certainly be missed. But don't you know he is just digging the music in his own little "Rock N Roll" heaven.
RIP Jack..

My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. I have not seen Jack since I was a very young teenager and we swam on the same winter team at the YMCA. He was the handsome, muscular teen in an age bracket above mine. I was infatuated but knew that I was not the only girl whose eye Jack could catch... Oh yes, and he was quite a swimmer, too. Sounds like he became an interesting man who embraced life. I am sure he will be missed.

Jack was a heck of a friend, man, and human being. He had the most beautiful toothy smile and was usually the first one to acknowledge someone when they arrived to join the group. He would go out of his way to make you feel welcome in the crowd. I always enjoyed Jack's great big sense of humor. So often he was the life of the party. Jack was a man with few needs of his own and willing to do anything for anyone. I loved to be around my friend Jack and I will miss him very much. I believe he is re-united with his sister Julie in heaven and they are in a very happy place together now. R.I.P. my friend. Love you.

Rusty Johnson

April 5, 2011

My deepest sympathy to all of Jack's family and friends. Jack was one of my oldest friends, and though we'd lost touch, somewhat, in these last few years, he always held a special place in my heart. We did have a reunion last year, and it meant the world to me to see Jack and Gerre there. We had a lot of fun sharing memories. It is tough losing a peer, and yet we move on. A song will be heard and we will smile. One man's life touches so many others, Jack you were that man. Now, when it rains, I'll know it's just "Smackwater Jack" diving in the pool. Rest in peace, my friend.

April 5, 2011

Dear Aunt Gerre,
We are so sorry for your loss. We are thinking about you here in TX. Lots of love and hugs from the Glovers.

Jack was a slow mover on ground as a kid, but once he hit the water most people he was racing saw only his feet. I remember talk where jack had a invitation to Jr Olympics, I dont know how that paned out, but he could of made a showing, he was that good. He was the only guy I knew that could out swim me at country acres...then i lost jack running with the other hoods, near the pool, jack was the man AND Great Songs blaring from the whole house as you drove by.....thats where I wanted to live, in chesters house. Be good in heaven, and find yourself a pool and some great 60s and 70s songs to swim to.I love you brother!
