Malcolm Link Obituary

Malcolm Link
April 4, 2021
Wichita, Kansas -
Malcolm K. Link, age 66, passed away on the 4th of April, 2021, in Wichita, Kansas, after battling cancer.
Born in Ellinwood, Kansas to Clifford A. Link and Haroldeen Marie Worswick Link of Chase, Kansas, he was raised in country life, graduated Salutatorian from Chase High School, and received Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science & Industry from Kansas State University 1977. Malcolm applied his education and experience to the agriculture industry mostly in western Kansas.
Malcolm pursued his love of Western history and cowboy life, including challenging rodeo bucking stock… often commenting he was born 100 years too late. He loved horses, dogs, being outdoors, guitar playing, history, leather works, guns, cowboy hats, boots – a true cowboy! Later a motorcycle replaced his horse and he rode at all times of the year.
May 2004, Malcolm moved to Wichita and started his law enforcement career with Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office. He served as Detention Deputy, Corporal, and lastly Sergeant assigned to 2nd shift Detention Facility to finally retire February 2021 with near 17 years of service. Malcolm was a man of loyalty and dedication, taking seriously his responsibilities and commitments.
Despite a crusty exterior and stubbornness, he was a loving and caring person. That evidence is the deep sorrow and pain the hearts of his fiancé and family feel from his passing.
Preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Haroldeen Link.
Survived by fiancé/partner Donna Davis of Augusta KS, son Alexander Link of Parker CO, siblings Bradley C. (Lori) Link of Wichita KS, and Angela M. Link (Don) Deckert of Wichita KS, uncle Vincent Link of Concordia KS, five nephews, five nieces, and many cousins and extended family.
Burial services to be Saturday, May 1, 2021, 12:30 pm, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Chase KS; and Celebration of Life following at Chase Community Building.
Memorials in his memory may be designated to: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org), or Saint Mary's Cemetery fund.

Malcolm you will be missed greatly the one thing that I will miss the most is your dry sense of humor you would say the funniest things so straight faced but everyone around you would be laughing and you would say whats so funny and then have a slow chuckle I enjoyed being your sister in law for 15 years fly high and may the angel's wrap their wings around you and guide you safety to heaven
