Paul Bandy Obituary

CANTON - Bandy, Paul L., 85, died July 22, 2005 at Shiloh Manor, Canton. He was born Aug. 20, 1919 the son of Floyd and Sophie Blackburn Bandy. He served in the United States Army in the European Theater during World War II. Paul was an area oil producer and a service and supply company owner. On June 29, 1946 he married Marjorie M. Heckard Coons at McPherson. He was a lifetime Canton resident. He attended the Canton Christian Church, was a life member of the Canton American Legion Post #192 and a charter life member of the VFW Post #2715, McPherson. He was also a member of the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association, Kansas Oil and Gas Museum Association of Great Bend and the Canton Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; three sons, R.M. "Butch" Coons, Rimrock, AZ, Terry P. Bandy, McPherson, Richard L. Bandy, Canton; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A son, Robert C. Bandy; brother, Willis "Bill" Bandy and sister, Phylis Gertrude Dayton preceded him in death. Funeral service will be held Tuesday morning July 26, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Canton Christian Church, Canton. Interment will be in the Canton Township Cemetery with military rites by the Canton American Legion Post #192. A memorial has been established with the Canton Christian Church or Shiloh Manor Nursing Home, Canton in c/o of Olson's Mortuary, Canton.
