I can't believe that it's been nine years now that you've been gone, Rich. You were one of the kindest, bravest, most caring spirits I've ever known, and you made the world a better place just by being in it. Your memory lives on in the hearts of all of us fortunate enough to have known you. Rest in peace, buddy.

Marni, Lou and Family:
Our deepest condolances to you for your loss. I remember meeting Rich in the 70's and foundly remember and enjoying his Looking Glass and Dr. Redbird restaurants. Although I knew him thru Mama Lou he always remembered me and was so kind to come over the our table and talk. What fun days those were. He was an extraordinary man, husband, friend and father and he fought a good battle. Now he can rest in peace. He had a very supportive family and caregivers who will always have good memories of Rich to last a lifetime. Please accept our most sincere sympathy for your loss and faith to know he's finally at rest and peace.

I still remember Rich and Yuma down in the lower level of the old Phi Delt House dancing their fool heads off. What a great guy and always positive. Sorry, but I didn't realize Rich was in poor health as I now reside in SLC. My prayers go out to his family & friends. Woody Woodall.

Right after I moved to town in the early 70's I was working for the Kansas State Bank and a young fellow came into my office with a crazy idea for a new restaurant...Dr. Redbird's. What a fertile mind. It was fun to watch him work. Quite a guy. We'll miss him.

Rich was my fraternity brother and friend. When I returned to Wichita in 1971, after receiving my law degree, I moved into a downtown office and Rich and I saw each other on a regular basis; at the restaurants he owned or on the street. It was always a joy to run into Rich, spend some time reminiscing about our fraternity days or simply talk about the weather. What a guy! There was just something about the way Rich could shake your hand, put his other hand on your shoulder and say "How ya doing" that couldn't help but brighten your day. Rich's legacy will live on in the businesses he's worked in, the buildings he renovated and in the warm memories of all who knew him.

had the pleasure of going to school, being in a fraternity and working with Rich on a couple of restaurant adventures. I have never met anyone with such a creative eye for ambience in an eating establishment. Most of all, Rich had the heart of Mother Teresa. Working with Rich and having him as a friend are treasured memories. God Bless to Marnie, Whitney & Sasha.

I remember meeting Rich and Marni at the Larkspur about 14 years ago. I was their server and from that day on a fan of both of them. They were the kindest and so tuned in. Over the years they always said hello to me and of course knew my name. They always seemed interested in what was going on in my life. Thank you so very much for that. Thinking of your amazing family.
