Roger, you are so loved and missed that it hurts. We come visit you frequently. What a blessing God gave us when he gave us you. But then God took you back as if he needs you too. Keep those blue eyes watching over us and that pearl white smile ... every time I think about the GOOD Goddard days I can see you SMILING with your pearly whites and blue eyes glistening. Always positive. God Bless and Keep!!!! Miss you our friend.

Mrs. Robben, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I went to St. Jude where you were such and aweome teacher and knew Mr. Robben while I was at Carroll. He was an awesome teacher just like you. I'm hurting for you and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Our hearts go out to the Robben family at this difficult time. We have wonderful memories of Roger when Brad and Jeff were at Carroll. He was always such an inspiration! Also to Deb, because I know how very hard it is to suddenly lose the person you were to marry and the future you were to have together. My thoughts and prayers go out to Roger Robben's Family and Friends. My Son, Tony Barker, played Football with Roger at KU for two years. They were good friends. I was only around Roger two or three times back then but that was enough to know he was a very special and wonderful person. I'm glad that Roger was a part of my life. I know Roger will be deeply missed by many. RIP Roger.

Robben Family- my thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of loss. Hearing of Roger's passing has brought back a flood of truly awesome memories from my days as a football player at Carroll. As a coach he tried to instill in me the toughness necessary to play the game, the passion to love the game and the skills needed to succeed in the game. As a friend's brother, he was someone to look up to and emulate. He is an intense, tough man who cares greatly about his faith and his family. I will always remember him fondly.

Dear Robben, Huslig and Hageman families. Coach Robben welcomed our kids Andrew, Amado & Briana when they transferred to Goddard. He coached and taught all of our kids until 2010 and we got to know him through the football booster club. Even after he left Goddard, I would still receive a "Happy Mother's Day" text and I'm sure other football moms did too. I'm sure he would be glad to know that our son Andrew, one of his students and players, is also a teacher and hopes to be a coach someday. We will never forget the influence he had on our family. My deepest sympathies to Rogers family and friends on his sudden passing away, causing shock to everyone who knew and loved him, that he was suddenly no longer able to share his love of coaching, teaching of his students, but more importantly, the love of/to/for his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him as a family member, friend, coach, and teacher, and may God comfort and guide you during your time of grief, and may you hold tightly in your hearts and minds your favorite memories, or those memories that mean so much to you and/or others. May they be a source of comfort to you during the good times, but more importantly, may the memories during the bad times to help bring peace, love, to you and comfort you. Our thoughts and prayers are, and will be with you during this tragic time.
Bob, I still remember you coaching at South Highschool when I was a student there, and the love of coaching and teaching you had for your students, and players. You taught and guided Roger very well, in and for the love of what he all did for his students.

My connection to the Robben family has been for several generations as I grew up in Andale with Roger's grandparents and great grandparents. Good people. Sherrie was also one of my best teachers in times past. Bob was a one the best running backs to wear an Andale uniform. I remember well Roger's days at Carroll and college. May he rest in peace. I have many memories of Roger running around on the farm as a little guy and wanting to be around all the activity. I only saw him play in one college game at Auburn. I remember riding with Bob, Robbie, and Randy to Ames to watch Roger play. You could sense how proud they were of him and how much he meant to them. My heart aches for them and their entire family.

There are no words of comfort at this time. Some day when we all get to heaven we will have to ask "WHY-Why Roger when he was so young and when his children needed him the most". I am certain as a family you will wrap your arms around his children and be the best guides for them. My heart breaks for each and every one of you and will keep you all in our prayers.
