Ruth Ann Elmore

CAMARILLO, CA - Elmore, Ruth Ann Elmore (1930 - 2010). It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Elmore on Oct. 17, 2010. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday evening after years of suffering from Parkinson's disease. She was born in Wichita, KS, the youngest daughter of C.H. "Charlie" Duncan and Mary Margaret Ashby Duncan. She graduated from East High School and married Robert Elmore in 1951. Survivors: her husband; sons, Rob (Dana) & Bruce; daughter, Laurie Newcomb (Joel); grandchildren, Wesley & Stephanie, all in California, and in Wichita her sister, Caroline Johnson & brother, Howard (Bud) Duncan. She leaves neices and nephews, Melissa Gregory and Bill Johnson, Wichita, Leslie Duncan, Plano, TX, Dan Duncan, Alexandria, Viriginia, Pam Todd, Augusta, Jane Smith & Fran Black, Valley Center. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Margaret Black. Ruth was a homemaker most of her life and a dedicated mother and wife. She was also very dedicated to her church, Evangelical Free. Although she was no longer able to attend services, she read her Bible daily. Ruth had many 'golden' years traveling with her husband, Rob. Many of their adventures were spent on canal boats in Europe, often accompanied by family and friends. Internment services were held Friday, Oct. 22 at Conejo Mountain in Camarillo.
