I was an outsider looking in. My mother Paula Renteria was a good friend over many decades to Genevieve and Carlos Sanchez. Sally never missed a Sunday mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church. Always the driver for her parents.
In 1993 I fell ill with complications to my gall bladder and was hospitalized. Word got out at Our Lady of Perpetual Help that I was in the hospital for a long time. Sally belonged to the church Women’s Society, and about 5 or 6 of them came to see me. They said they were there to pray for my full recovery. They all held hands, and mine too, and said a couple of prayers for me. How can I forget those wonderful ladies, and my gratitude, for praying for me? Oh Sally, and the Women’s Society, you are truly a shining star in the heavens. Please continue your prayers up there in Heaven so we can find our way to our true home with you!

I was sadden to hear of my long time friend's passing. We had grown apart and not seen each other for years, which is a shame in itself. Sally fly with the angels and try to behave yourself! Love from your friend Char.

Sorry to hear this sweet, happy, friendly soul has left this world. I didn't know her well but felt like I did every time I saw her. Rest Sally in our savior's arms.

Have to say goodbye, see you later and really don't want to, Comadre. You know me, Sally. Stubborn as a mule (nothing new, huh?) We know where you are, in Paradise, and in Our Father's presence in addition to all our beloved ones we've been missing! Be sure to hug my mama and daddy for me and of course, your dad and our abuelitas! I an so going to miss your smile, your laughs and most of all, your spiritual strength, faith and inspiration especially your words of encouragement. CW sends hugs too. Pray for us, Comadre and I already know you will be keeping a watchful eye out for me. L'amo mucho, querida comadre!
