Timothy Ladwig Obituary
April 20, 2025
Wichita, Kansas - Timothy Victor Ladwig, 73, Children's Book Illustrator, died Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2727 E. 25th St. N., Wichita.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kathryn Ladwig.
Survived by his wife, Leah Ladwig; daughters, Makayla Ladwig, both of Wichita, Briana (Brian) Ladwig of Lawrence, KS; son, David Ladwig of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Zaza, Aiden; brothers, Craig (Shelly) Ladwig, Phil (Gay) Ladwig.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Wichita Art Museum, 1400 W. Museum Blvd., Wichita, KS 67203.

Very sorry to hear that Tim is gone. We grew up together going to the same schools and living in the same neighborhood. His amazing talent as an artist and amazing character as a person always inspired me. Many happy memories of our time growing up. Glad I got to reconnect with him a little in recent years. He is missed.

I worked with Tim when he did some absolutely gorgeous illustrations for the front pages of our Family sections of The Wichita Eagle, back in the late 90s, I think. Working with him was an absolute joy and his work, incredible. It was an honor and a privilege to collaborate with such a talented and humble man. My condolences to the family. He loved you all dearly.

I am so sorry to hear of Tim's passing! We hsf looked forward to getting together with him in July in WIchita.
Tim was an inspiration through his life and his books. We tresure his memory.

So sorry I missed this. What an amazing person! Tim and I were neighbors, friends and schoolmates. He was the kindest, sweetest soul and always had the warmest smile. I´m so happy I got to visit with him at the last reunion. So many memories of his goodness.
