Aaron Woods Obituary

Aaron Neil Woods

August 22, 1965 - December 21, 2024

Lee's Summit, Missouri - Aaron Neil Woods was born the youngest of five to Aubrey and Peggy Woods of Independence, Missouri on August 22, 1965. Being "raised right", he loved the St. Louis Cardinals. God used Aaron in each Church he attended in choirs, youth, teaching, missions, fellowship, and leadership. He was a man of non-judgmental compassion, wisdom, and generosity, impacting those he met with his voice, his clear thinking, and his intentional actions. Aaron was a devoted father to his five children, spending the majority of his free time learning about his children's passions and exploring the world through their eyes. He often spent weekends engaging in adventures with his family and serving his community and any other community that needed his help. Aaron's selflessness and charitable spirit were immediately apparent to anyone he met.

Aaron felt called to speak up for those who could not, and after graduating from Chrisman (1983), UMKC (1987), and UMKC School of Law (1989), he began a legal career that spanned his lifetime. Aaron served as an attorney for 35 years, zealously advocating for his clients and excelling in the courtroom. Being an attorney was more than just a career for Aaron, it was his calling and his passion. Aaron distinguished himself as an experienced advocate in the legal community. Just prior to his death in 2024, he was recognized in the Top 100 Lawyers as a Lifetime Achievement Recipient. Throughout his career, he was honored with many other awards, including American's Top 100 High Stakes Litigators, Top 10 Personal Injury Attorneys attaining the Highest Possible Rating in Both Legal Ability and Ethical Standards, and many more. Aaron's confidence and ability to connect with the people of the jury in any courtroom was born from his belief that honesty prevails.

Aaron was a loving father, friend, husband, brother, attorney, mentor, and colleague. He never hesitated to listen, provide honest feedback, lend a helping hand, or offer an offhand joke to lighten the mood. He will be missed by many. On December 21, 2024 Aaron went home to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He leaves behind his wife and his five children: Melody, Garrett (Moriah), Karina, Treyson (Jennifer), and Kyler.

A funeral service will be held in his honor on January 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Crown Pointe Church, 5950 NE Lakewood Way, Lee's Summit, MO 64064. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m.

Aaron was a client and quickly turned into friend. I appreciated the fact that he didn´t dance around a question and would listen to your thoughts and ideas. He is very sorely missed but he is smiling down upon everyone that he knew.
