Anthony Piranio Obituary

Anthony A. Piranio
January 27, 1938 - February 1, 2022
Kansas City, Missouri - Anthony "Tony" Piranio, 84, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2022. Anthony was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri. He was born at St. Joseph hospital on January 27, 1938 and grew up in the north end of Kansas City on 5th and Harrison St. He attended De La Sal Military School where he played football, baseball, basketball and ran track. He excelled in football which fueled his love for sports throughout his life.
He was a member of the Labors Local Union 264 where he had 53 years of service. He retired in 2000 with over 40 years with Lexington Plumbing Co. Anthony was also a member of the K.C Retrievers Club where he enjoyed his retirement years with his wife Donna training dogs for hunt test competitions all over the country. His dogs were always the top contenders, winning many awards and trophy's from the retriever's club. He also had a passion for photography. His ability to capture the perfect picture was a true gift from God and he never went anywhere without his cameras. He loved to hunt, collect guns and dance but most of all he loved people.
Anthony is preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Donna Piranio; son, Michael Anthony Denney; parents, Florence Labella Piranio and Steno Piranio; siblings, Francis Mangiarcins, Joseph Piranio and Elizabeth Pileggi. He leaves behind his daughters, Sheryl Howard and her husband Larry, Connie Carcione and her husband Rick; seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who all loved him very much.

-Dear Sheryl, Connie and Families,
We loved your Dad the first time we ever met him. He was funny, charminng, sweet and impossible not to want to be around. We shared many fun times with Tony and Donna at Shrimp Dinners, at Frank's and at his Dad's place. Larry loved hunting with him. We are so sorry for your loss. Yes, Sheryl, you will have a hole in your heart forever. We do from our dear ones' passings. A girl's Father is her special buddy if she is lucky and we know you both were!
Holding you both in our hearts with love and prayers,
Carolyn and Larry

Thanks Sheryl. I played with your Dad for 3 years in the late '50's.
He was not only a really good player but a fun guy to be around.
