Austin Buis Obituary

1986 - 2007 Austin Caleb Buis, 21, Paradise Valley, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 24, 2007. He was born February 5, 1986, in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is survived by loving parents, Tom and Deborah Buis, former residents of Savannah and St. Joseph, Mo. Austin graduated from Horizon High School in 2004. He attended Scottsdale Community College and was involved in Extreme Sports. He had a passion for music and writing and loved animals, especially his dog Missy. Austin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Valdon Buis; maternal great grandmother, Lucile Smith (granny); and uncle, Shawn Palmer. Additional survivors include brothers, Ryan and Jordan Buis, Paradise Valley, Ariz.; grandparents, Hedy Buis, Savannah, Mo., and John and Virginia Palmer, St. Joseph, Mo.; aunts and uncles, Eilean and Ronnie McCauley, St. Joseph, Jim and Kathy Buis, Bloomington, Minn., Dianna Palmer, Dallas, Texas, Jeannine and Bill Burnett, Jodi and Ty Glascock, and Jon and Mandy Palmer, St. Joseph; cousins, Todd Lea, Bloomington, Craig McCauley, New Zealand, Stacey McCauley-Lindekamp and Dave Lindekamp, Portland, Ore., Ashley and Scott Lightle, St. Joseph, Tara and Jason Heald, Woodberry, Minn., Ashley Burnett, Las Vegas, Nev., Blake Buis, Bloomington, Taylor and Addison Glascock, Abby and Emma Palmer, Hope and Seanna Lightle, St. Joseph, and Hunter and Nolan Heald, Woodberry. Austin's kind nature and sweet spirit is what we will remember most about him. He was quiet and soft-spoken and could light up a room with his smile. Austin was a wonderful son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all. Although his stay in this world was brief, we are comforted by the fact that he has eternal life and his spirit lives forever. Where do I even start? Everyday that Austin was here I always tried to go out of my way to say hi to him. Not for any weird reasons just because he was funny and always willing to share a "hope your day is going well" with you. That's the one thing that I miss. My deepest sympathies are with the Buis family. Though I didn't spend as much time with Austin as most did, the few times we did share moments I will never forget.

I miss and love you so very much. There has never been a day, since I met you, that you haven't entered my thoughts; that hasn't changed and will never change. I would give anything to take all this away. Just to see you one more time. Even though I know it would never be enough. Please just watch over your family, they need you more then ever. You know YOU will ALWAYS have my heart. Thank you for every second we shared together. Life will NEVER be the same.

I love you, Houdini.

Tom, Deb, Ryan, and Jordan,
I love you all so very much! Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Or just call if you just want to talk. I'm never to far away. I hope you know that. Thanks for all the great memories we have all shared together! I cherish them and hold them in my heart.

Dear Tom and Debbie and Family, I was so sad to hear about Austin. Another child gone, too soon. It's hard to find words that will bring you comfort right now, but I know that you are surrounded by loving, caring family and friends who will share your burden at this very sad time. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers, even though we have never met. You must be very proud of your son, for everything he accomplished and for being so strong. He will always be forever young, forever in the hearts of those who love him so much. Take good care.

Sincerely and with sympathy,

I just wanted to express that I am sorry to hear about Austin passing away. I grew up knowing Austin through elementary, middle school, and part of high school. Austin and I were good friends through middle school and high school. Austin always had the ability to make people laugh and was a great person to know. My best thoughts and prayers are with Austin and your family.
