Kearney, Missouri - Barbara Jean (Cooper) Pew passed away on Wednesday, June 8. Barbara was born Christmas day in 1938 to Clara & Darrell Cooper in Muncie, Indiana. As a child growing up she lived in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Englewood, California.
Barbara graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1956 and furthered her education by attending Christian College for Women in Columbia, Missouri graduating in 1958 with an Associate Arts Degree.
In February 1959 she went to work for Trans World Airlines (TWA) as a Hostess where on one of her first flights she met a handsome young co-pilot by the name of Dale Pew. They were married in November 1960 and enjoyed almost 45 years of marriage prior to Dale's passing in July 2005.
Along with her husband, Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son Kevin Pew (Tresa Myracle), daughter Kathy Cordell (Gary Sebo), brother Steve Cooper (Judy), 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
There will be no formal services per Barbara's request, and instead the family will have a celebration of life at a later date.

Barbara was such a kind and welcoming lady who could make you feel at ease, upon meeting her. I was her realtor in the sale of her Barrington Ridge home. She never wavered in her cheerful positive attitude and a ready wonderful smile. I will always remember her fondly.
