Beth Hackett Obituary

Beth B. Hackett, age 98, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Garden Terrace of Overland Park. Cremation with private placement in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Prayer Columbarium ossuary. Beth was born August 15, 1909 in Topeka, Kansas and moved to Kansas City when she was 18 years old. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the Kansas City Transportation Authority until her retirement in 1976. Beth was also a talented singer, singing professionally in many Kansas City area establishments. She enjoyed reading, was a very independent woman, and will be fondly remembered for her jolly sense of humor and being a genuine caring, concerned individual. Beth was preceded in death by her husband Merle, and two brothers. She is survived by her longtime friends, Angel and Lily Casillan, and they wish to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Garden Terrace for the dedication and TLC (tender loving care) they provided to Beth for over 9 years when she had Alzheimer's.
