CAROL WICKERSHAM Obituary

On December 5, 2012, Jesus rescued His daughter Carol Sue Wickersham from her long struggle with cancer. Today she celebrates with her Savior and all who have gone home before her. Carol Sue was born to Hartley and Myrtle Larson. She married Dave Wickersham in 1964. They spent 48 amazing years together. She is the devoted mother of Davey, Carey, Mandy, and Matthew, a wonderful mother-in-law to their spouses, and a dedicated grandmother to Jesse, Lily, Luke, Abby, Cody, Daniel, Jacob, and one to be born next year. She is a loving sister to Ingrid Bruns. Carol Sue was a faith-walking, fun-loving, tradition-building inspiration and teacher to us all. Carol Sue attended Westport High and the University of Colorado. She worked as a secretary at Maranatha Academy and Cross Points Church where she attended for 36 years. She loved to read, travel and sing in the church choir. She will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Sunday night from 6 to 8 p.m. and a funeral Monday morning at 10 a.m., both at Cross Points Church, 6824 Lackman Rd, Shawnee, KS 66217. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Cross Points Church. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.amosfamily.com The Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203, 913-631-5566

Dave, you may not remember me (Emannuel Baptist many years ago) but I never have forgotten you and Carol Sue. Please except my sincerest sympathies in Carol Sue's passing. No more suffering for her now as she is in the arms of your and my closet friend in Jesus.

Hello,Dave: I was shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of your lovely spouse, and am so grateful that Bill and I were able to spend such a memorably jolly time with you and Carol Sue the last time we were in Kansas City. You know, of course, that both Bill and I had huge high-school crushes on her, and never did get over them. That's the sort of gravitational pull she had, and it shows in the lovely picture you've posted here of her. Radiantly beautiful she was, in person and spirit, radiating that beauty on all around her. I like and admire the straight talk in the opening sentence of your obit, and so, I think, would Carol Sue: you've both always been admirably outspoken about your faith, and in that respect you've been a model for me. Although we did not often meet, Carol Sue was an indelible part of and influence on my life, and I am most grateful for that. I grieve her loss with you and pray for you during this rough time.

I have never known a more Godly woman. She has always been an amazing example to me of what a Christian walk should be. Even though I haven't seen her often in recent years I will always miss her. I love you Carol Sue.
