Prairie VIllage, Kansas - Catherine "Katy" Ormsby, 99, of Prairie Village passed away October 10, 2022.
Katy was born in St. Louis, MO, to Joseph and Julie Bush. The family moved to Kansas City, MO, where she attended St. Peter's Grade School and St. Teresa's Academy. Katy married John Ormsby in 1944.
Katy is survived by her son Joseph Patrick Ormsby and wife Leanna, daughter Catherine Bratton, daughter Mary Ellen (Missy) and husband Michael Yeager, daughter Colleen and husband Chuck Padilla, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Katy volunteered at her children's schools, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Girl Scout Leader, delivered Meals on Wheels, worked at St. Mary's Food Kitchen, was a member of Ladies of Charity and volunteered at Visitation and St. Ann's Parishes.
Visitation will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 14 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Private family burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
