Chuck was one of a kind. He always had a unique walk and always was the life of the party. He will truly be missed. So sorry to the McKeon family for your loss.

Chuck would come strolling into the courtroom like a tall, old-school, Marlboro Man. And if he sat down to negotiate a case with me (I´m a prosecutor), he´d get the legal stuff out of the way quickly, so he could tell me a story about the "good old days" or share a bit of gossip. I knew him for almost twenty years, but only saw him in the courthouse. One time I ran into him at my neighbor´s party and he had on a sweatshirt and shorts. I couldn´t believe it! I didn´t know he owned anything other than suits and ties. Although Chuck didn´t like braggarts, he´d get mighty proud telling stories about his kids. Sending my deepest condolences to the family.

So sad to hear of this. I've known Chuck for 50 years through high school, then at the Jackson County Courthouse when he was a prosecutor, and years while he was in private practice.

I remember chit chatting with lawyers, including Chuck, waiting for a municipal court to commence years ago. Several were talking about the unknowable road ahead for their children who were entering their freshman year of college. Chuck got a very gentle and thoughtful look on his face and commented that his son was entering kindergarten, making him a "freshman in life" then he smiled. I have to think was musing to himself about the many obstacles a parent will see his child encounter and deal with as the years pass. The sweetness of that comment has always stayed with me all these years. Rest in peace, Chuck. We will miss you.

I moved to KC for work from Australia in Feb 1984 with my new bride Bronny.
I hooked up with the KC Blues Rugby and played a season where we met Chuck. We hung out with Chuck and Paula for 2 years before returning to Australia. What a great time we had - so much fun to be with.
We stayed in touch and returned to KC to visit on many occasions
My son Charlie spent 9 mths in KC playing for the Blues in 2009 and Chuck always looked out for him.
In Feb 2020 I visited again and stayed with Chuck - he picked me up and dropped me back at the airport and provided me with a car to get around in.
Even took me to a country town court house to watch him in action defending a client. We were the best of mates - will miss you Chuck
To Mega, Matt Erin and Sophia - so sorry for your loss - he was so proud of you

Megan, Matt, and Erin, my prayers and heartfelt sympathy are with you as are Bill's. So glad you have your dear mother Paula there for you as she always has been and always will be. And well said and so true, your dad was the life of every party and even every law school class I was in with him. His Irish wit and humor was like no other!

So sad to know I won´t see him again. What a great guy to have been friends with for over forty years. Always smiling, always kind, his passing leaves a hole in so many hearts. And, (as he would say...) he owed me 20 dollars!...God Bless Chuck McKeon.
