Clyde Montgomery Obituary

Nov. 9, 1967 - Sept. 26, 2009 Clyde Montgomery of Raymore, Mo., passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the age of 41. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore. His ashes will be laid to rest in Belton, Mo., with his infant son, Clyde Samuel Montgomery, who he lost to SIDS in 1991. He is survived by his parents, George and Donna Montgomery of Raymore, his son, Andrew, 22, of Raymore, and Nicholas, 16, of Kansas City, Mo., as well as his two siblings, April Fleener of Belton, and George Montgomery of Peculiar. Clyde is survived as well from his Raymore home, significant other of many years, Aileen Haston and her two kids, Brittni and Alex. Clyde graduated from Raymore-Peculiar High School in 1986. Upon graduation, Clyde enlisted in the Army and drove an M-60 and an M-1 Abrams tank in Germany. After returning from overseas, Clyde delved into the family business, George Electric with his father who remained as his employer until his death. Clyde's loves included his entire family, sci-fi, books, martial arts and his family pets. Clyde was continually at his computer, extending his knowledge in each of his interests. His love for self- improvement is what he tried to instill in every life he touched, as he believed everyone has power within themselves to accomplish great things. Clyde will be greatly missed by the entire community, his friends and family. We will greatly miss the calm, quiet, strong, big- hearted son, father, and dear friend of many, in our lives. Family members request donations to be sent in his honor to the American Heart Association or SIDS Resources. Arrangements: Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, (816) 322-5278.

There is no greater love than the love you have for your own child, or the love a child feels for a parent. No friendship is as close as the friendship of a brother or sister who have shared your life experiences with you. No love is as true as the love of your soul mate.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends of Clyde.
