Daniel DiSalvo Obituary

Daniel DiSalvo, 83, Northeast Kansas City, Mo., passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008, at VA Medical Center from congestive heart failure. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124; burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Mr. DiSalvo was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo. He operated a vending business for over 40 before retiring in 1999. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the 26th Division, 101st Infantry, Company F of the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of four major battle campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a NRA member and supporter. Mr. DiSalvo was preceded in death by his parents, Carmelo and Antoinette (Cangelosi) DiSalvo; and all nine of his brothers and sisters. Survivors include his sons, Daniel Jr. and wife Sherry of Kansas City, John of Dolan Springs, Ariz., Frank and wife Diana of Wichita, Kan.; daughters, Carla Lester and husband Everett of Overland Park, Kan., Kathy DiSalvo of Ozawkie, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
