David E. Eubank, 44, died of burns sustained in a workrelated accident on Friday night, August 18, 2006, at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 11am-12pm, Wednesday, August 23, at Floral Hills Memorial Chapel, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, services will follow at 12pm, with burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. David was born August 13, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri, and was a life-long resident of Raytown, Missouri. He graduated from Raytown South High School in 1980. He was employed as an Equipment Specialist at the Government Services Administration for 18 years. David was an Eagle Scout and remained active with Boy Scout Pack and Troop 550 during his adult life. He was a member of the Raytown Chapter of DeMolay. His wife of 20 years, Kembra; two sons, Jesse, age 13, and Spencer, age 7; his mother, Wilma Eubank; four sisters, Linda Gray, Donna Johnson, Sandra (David) Saheb, Rhonda (Mike) Burke; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends survive David. An infant son, Wyatt, and his father, Edward Eubank, preceded David in death. An avid sportsman, "Big Dave" enjoyed the great outdoors, and nothing gave him more joy than hunting and fishing with his sons. Many happy memories were made at their place at the Lake of the Ozarks. Big in stature, big in heart, David was a generous, kind person who could and would fix or do anything for anyone. His family and his many friends will miss him very much. David was a special person. I was in Troop 75 with him for only a couple of years, but I learned quite a bit from him. I pray that all of his friends and family will remember the happy times, and forget any sadness. Jesus Loves You!

Kem,

Our deepest sympathies at the loss of David. I hadn’t heard anything about the accident until today. David was way too young to go. I looked at the web site that your sister and Heinz set up and the journal told of David’s fight to stay with you. We haven’t stayed in touch as much as we should have over the years but share your loss. You, the boys, and the entire Eubank family are in our prayers. If there is anything we can do to help you please don’t hesitate to call.

I remember the first time I saw Dave. It was my first DeMolay meeting and there was this big kid who looked intimidating but turned out to be a bigger help than I could ever imagine. I also remember him on Scout overnights with Troop 75. (I went on some of the overnights with the Thurlo's.)

I think the thing I will remember most about Dave is his smile and how the kids respected and treated him. His helpfulness and willingness was not only an inspiration, but also a role model to all.

May God keep you in His hands as we keep you in our prayers. Please let us know if we can help with anything.
