DAVID P. SIMPSON

1954 - 2014

David P. Simpson, 60, of Gladstone, MO passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at the home after a long illness. David was born in Chanute, KS on March 28, 1954 to Robert E. and Alice Simpson. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School and received degrees from Johnson County Community College, Avila College, and Central Missouri State University. Dave was an officer for the Olathe, KS Police Dept. in the early 1980's and worked the majority of his career in the firearms and sporting goods industry. Dave was an educated and kind man with a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by sister Kathie Chambers (Lee) of Fenton, MO, and brothers Ken Simpson (Bev) of Prairie Village, KS, Martin Simpson of Osawatomie, KS, and James Simpson (Robyn) of Liberty, MO as well as six nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Funeral Home, 3300 Shawnee Dr., Kansas City, KS.
