DONALD E. LOHMAN

Donald Lohman, 83, Blue Springs, MO, passed away Friday, November 26, 2010. Visitation will occur at Timothy Lutheran Church, 425 NW R.D. Mize Rd., Blue Springs, from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2010. A service celebrating Donald's life will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Timothy Lutheran Church. Donald was born August 29, 1927, in Concordia, MO, the son of Elmer and Minerva Lohman. After graduating from Concordia High School in 1945, Donald attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, served in the US Army, and was employed at the Concordia Creamery before joining Adams Dairy as a dairy field man in 1950. He married Verna Becker on September 10, 1950, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Concordia. In 1961, the Lohmans moved to Blue Springs when Donald became the plant manager and comptroller at Adams Dairy. In 1967, Donald started his career as a New York Life Insurance agent, spanning over 40 years of distinguished service as a member of the New York Life Sales Councils and Million Dollar Round Table. He received Senior NYLIC and the National Quality Award for over 30 years. Donald is a charter member of Timothy Lutheran Church, serving as its first treasurer. Survivors include Verna, his wife of 60 years; daughters Diane (Brad) Mayfield and Debra (David) Stanley; grandchildren Allison (Dustin) Spencer, Andrew Mayfield, Scott Stanley, Abigail Stanley, Sarah (Doug) Filipovits, Timothy Stanley, Gabriel Stanley; great- granddaughter Emma Mayfield; sister Morley Ann Rohman; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
