Earl Lee Corbin

Earl Lee Corbin, 77, of Raytown, Mo., passed away suddenly from cancer on September 11, 2009. Earl was born June 22, 1932, to Grace and John of Kansas City, Mo. Earl graduated from Paseo High School in 1950 and soon enlisted in the U.S. Army. Earl served in Korea from 1950 to 1953 until he was injured, which resulted in the loss of his right leg. Not letting that slow him down, he soon returned home, where he married the love of his life, Marilyn Sue Talley. He then went on to Pittsburg State to complete his degree in engineering. He was the chief estimator for several heavy construction companies throughout the years, in which he made many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Grace Corbin, and brother Elbert Bradley. Earl is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; four children, Dave (Claudia), John (Ann), Lance (Rebecca), and Kelly. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Travis, Colin, Tyler, Nichole, Carly, and Cody. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 15, from 6-8 p.m., at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Raytown, Mo. Funeral services will be held September 16, at 10 a.m., also at Floral Hills Funeral Home.
