Earnest Rust Obituary

Earnest Burl Rust, 85, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Mercy Villa Nursing Home in Springfield, Mo. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2007, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, Kan. Burial to follow in Bonner Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the visitation on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Earnest was born August 6, 1921, in Marshfield, Mo. He worked for over 32 years at the Lonestar Cement Manufacturing Plant in Bonner Springs, Kan., where he retired as an equipment operator. Earnest loved working with his cattle as a hobby and enjoyed the friendship of his neighbors, car racing in his younger days and more recently watching car races and wrestling on TV. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Rust in 2000 and one son, Steve Rust in 1979, and is survived by daughter Joyce Dove of Nixa, Mo.; son Rex Rust of Platte City, Mo.; three sisters, Margaret Oxenrider of Bonner Springs, Kan., Ruby Brinkley of Marshfield, Mo., May Pettit of Marshfield, Mo., and one brother, Frank Rust of Rogersville, Mo. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. (Arr.: Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 913422-4074)
