Estella Kieffaber Obituary

Estella Kieffaber, 94, of Lenexa, passed away May 3, 2007 at Trinity Nursing and Rehab. Visitation will be from 7–9 PM Monday at the Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 8, in Mt. Hope Cemetery with a memorial celebration service at 3:00 PM Tuesday at Argentine Mennonite Church. At age four she moved with her family to Alberta, Canada and in 1934 returned to KS to complete her education at Hesston Academy. She was a child caregiver at the Mennonite Children's Home in the Argentine area of KCK. While working there she cared for the youngest of Albert J. Kieffaber's children. Al & Estella were married in 1941. Nine children were born to Al & Estella: Lois K (Jim) Bare; V Ruth (Glenn) Bitikofer; Roy (Dee) Kieffaber; Alberta (Amos) Stoltzfus; Harvey (Carol) Kieffaber; Jim (Ruth) Kieffaber; Miriam (Frank) Renfrow; Walter (Frida) Kieffaber; and Tim (Mary) Kieffaber. Together they parented their family which included several children from Al's first marriage. She was the Biblical model of homemaker (Proverbs 31:10-31). She was very active in the Argentine Mennonite Church and enjoyed teaching Weekday Bible School students from Stanley Elementary School. She loved people, had a sweet spirit and all who met her saw Christ's love exemplified in her life. She was a servant, a giver, and a prayer warrior. Al preceded her in death in 1974. Treasuring her memory are her sister, Eldora (Marion) Hartzler, her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren, many friends and relatives. The family wishes to thank her excellent caregivers at Vintage Park of Lenexa, Hospice Care of Kansas and Trinity Nursing & Rehab. Memorials may be given to The Gideons International. (Arrs. To all the family of my dear sister, Estella. My thoughts are with you all during this week. It has now been a year since she took her flight to her eternal home. I am in awe each time I try to imagine the glories and beauty, the celestral air and magesty as they join in that heavenly choir. Together they bow before the throne as they lay their crowns before the Lamb. All my immediate family are there. Since your mother has gone, two other family have joined her...Dorothy and Marion. For the rest of us..we say, "what a day of rejoicing that will be" Till then,

How the years fly by. If I had known about the passing of Estella I would have been there. I have many good memories of our families visiting together. Ruth and Roy, I also have a few memories of the year we all lived in Iowa. Would love to visit with all of you again sometime.

Lois,Ruth,Roy,Alberta,Harvey,Walter,James,Miriam and Tim. WOW! It took me a while to think of Tim, but I got you all without looking. :)

This is truly the end of an era with the passing of Estella. You realize that we now are the OLDER generation.

You certainly have our sympathy and our prayers. I am so sorry that we couldn't make it to her visitation or memorial. I think that your mom was the godliest person I knew.

Kieffaber, King and Wise....what wonderful memories we have of growing up together.

Our love to all of you.

I'm so thrilled that my children were able to get to know Grandma K. They really enjoyed her very much, as did I. Words of wisdom spoken will always be rememered. As Treavor says, "She is a welly speshel person"

We will surely miss Grandma.
