It seemed to always be a race between Fred & my husband Dave to see who could show up first with the snow blade, ready for action after a big snowfall. Most of the time after getting all ready, Dave would look out just in time to see Fred making his last pass on our driveway. So they'd take to the streets! Another time Dave and his friend were going to cut down a really big tree at our log cabin. There was only a small space to drop it, and when Fred came by he commented that they needed a "come along". Fred showed up shortly thereafter with the device, and the three of them put that tree down precisely where it did no damage to the cabin or any other trees in the yard. What a guy! You sure will be missed, Fred. You were one of a kind. We'll watch after Pat...

I only knew Mr. Bergman for a brief time. He was a really sweet person to take care of. He always had a wonderful smile. My heart goes out to his wife and family at this time.. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

To the Bergman Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I met Fred through the Orchid Society and visited his greenhouse last fall. Fred had a keen sense of humor. He was such a wise man and he will be sorely missed.
