The Schoppers were our next door neighbors since 1970. Our family considered them very dear friends.

My brother Rory and I can scarcely recall a corner of our childhoods that wasn't made better or brighter by having "Uncle George" and his wonderful family in our lives. So many memories - hunting pheasant in Hayes, fishing for pike and walleye in Canada, pizza and playing into the wee hours after bowling at King Louie East, piling into a small jeep to escape the drowning rain and hailstones while a tornado passed near our campsite in Eudora. I'll bet they're still pulling scout knives and mess kits out of that corner of the Schopper farm every Spring.
Mentor, scoutmaster, and friend.

If the final measure of a person's Eartly expression lies in the number of lives touched and rendered better for it, then an awful lot of us will be counting for a long time.

Dear Dr. Lynne,

You are in the thoughts and prayers of my family and I. After reading about your dad's life, I know I am blessed to be near my father and enjoy his profound life. I imagine your mind is full of so many treasured memories of your father's "wonderful life" during this time of sadness. We celebrate your father's life and share in the sorrow of his passing. I consider you to be my compassionate, caring, and downright amazing dennist as well as my friend.

Dr. Lynne, on behalf of our family, I send heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
I don't care how old we get, we miss our parents when they are gone. May God cover you all with His sweetest and choicest blessings. I pray you know His peace even during this sad time. May the precious memories of your dad brighten each day and give you reason to smile. As you grieve the loss of your dad, don't grieve as the world grieves. Grieve with the hope of Heaven, of seeing your dad again someday. Our best days here pale in comparison to the joys of Heaven. Know that this sorrow is temporary the best is yet to come! We have all lost a role model and Father figure that has touched many lives in so many ways. He is enjoying a reunion with his Father and Brothers in Heaven. R.I.P. Uncle George

April 28, 2017

Dr. Schopper has always been an inspiration to me. As a childhood friend to Debbie I was able to experience what a wonderful person he was. I loved his tool packed garage, his war against sugar, the environmental friendly solar panels, his laugh during Carol Burnett, his love for animals, but mostly his gentle personality. I feel blessed to have known him and send all my love and prayers to the entire Schopper family.

The tide recedes but leaves behind
bright seashells on the sand.
The sun goes down, but gentle
warmth still lingers on the land.
The music stops, and yet it echoes
on in sweet refrains..
For every joy that passes,
something beautiful remains.
