GLORIA REARODON Obituary

GLORIA KAY REARDON (1948 to 2018) Gloria Kay Reardon (formerly Nelson) died peacefully Feb. 3, 2018 in Tallahassee, Florida due to complications from Parkinson's disease. She was the second daughter of Norton Nelson and Clara Nelson born in Des Moines, Iowa on August 23, 1948. Gloria's sister, Jean Patrick, predeceased her on January 7, 2017. Gloria lived in Iowa until age 13 then moved to Overland Park, Kansas and graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1966. She attend the Kansas City Art Institute and worked for various art studios and advertising agencies in Kansas City, Missouri. She was married to the former Clay County Prosecutor, Michael Reardon, and raised her family in Liberty, Missouri. She moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 2003 for the warm climate and beautiful scenery. Gloria will be remembered as an extremely talented artist, and for her love for nature, gardening, the beach, and wildlife. She also loved traveling, and her favorite place to visit was the Caribbean islands. Gloria is survived by her daughter, Laura McDermott (Reardon) of Tallahassee, and Darin Reardon of Kansas City, Missouri as well as extended family in Iowa, Texas, Hawaii, and Norway. A celebration of her life will be held at her favorite restaurant, and Hawaiian leis and her ashes will be released into the ocean per her final wishes. All Arrangements are under the care of ICS Cremation and Funeral Home.
