Harold Lewis Fanning, age 79, of Springfield, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Mercy Hospital. He was born September 23, 1936, in Olathe, KS, to Edward and Emma Fanning Harold spent most of his life working on the family farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on the farm, and spending time with his family, Harold loved being in the outdoors, and a good bottle of Schnapps. He was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Emma Fanning; four brothers, Raymond Fanning, Herman Fanning, Junior Fanning, and Bernard Fanning; and sisters: Ethel Fanning and Berniece Caenen. He is survived by his nephews, Jerry Fanning, Springfield, MO, Martin Fanning, Bowling Green KY, Myron Fanning, Elwood, MO, Art Caenen, Larned,KS, Charlie Caenen, Columbia, MO and Don Fanning, Stockton, MO; nieces, Rayna Fanning, Springfield, MO, Debbie Schmidt, Lee's Summit, MO, Denise Schuller, of South Carolina, and Rita Collins, Stockton; special nieces and nephews, Nick Fanning, Zack Fanning, Taylor Fanning and Alissa Fanning; and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. Burial will be held in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Olathe, KS at 11:00 am, Monday, January 25, 2016. Visitation will be held from 10-11 am on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
