Herbert Schwartz Obituary

Herbert R. Schwartz, 85, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, December 12, at The Louis Memorial Chapel. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of one's choice. Mr. Schwartz was an outside insurance sales representative for his entire working life. He was a lifelong member of The Temple, Congregation B'nai Jehudah. Mr. Schwartz attended Kansas City schools, graduating from Central High School. He attended the University of Missouri - Columbia until WWII interrupted his attendance. Mr. Schwartz was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was born in Kansas City, MO and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Schwartz was preceded in death by his parents: Morris H. and Esther (Asostsky) Schwartz; brothers: Leslie and Alvin Schwartz and his sister: Shirley Sircus. He is survived by his niece and her husband: Loren S. and Matthew Rice, Kansas City, MO; sisters-in-law: Hermine Schwartz, Overland Park, KS and Renee Schwarz, Las Vegas, NV; nieces: Michelle and Melissa Schwartz, Las Vegas, NV; nephews: Dennis Schwartz, Lake Quivira, KS; Roger Schwartz, West Palm Beach, FL and Michael Sircus, Overland Park, KS. Mr. Schwartz was an outgoing and generous man who, although never married, considered his extended family as his own. He was very considerate and punctual, loved family gatherings and loved to travel. Online guest book available at website www.louismemorialchapel.com.
