James Bryan Obituary

JAMES WESLEY BRYAN
December 29, 1939 - January 12, 2023
MURIETTA, California - James W. Bryan, M.D., Murrieta, CA passed away February 12, 2023. Jim was an outstanding scholar and athlete at Shawnee Mission High School, graduating in 1958. He received a scholarship to Stanford where he played basketball. He remained a die-hard Stanford fan in spite of his Kansas roots. He attended Cornell Medical school and served on the front lines in Vietnam as a surgeon. It is fitting that Jim passed the day Stanford upset Arizona in basketball and 15 minutes after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. He is missed deeply by many: his wife, Michelle, daughters Lisa and Holly and their spouses, 5 grandchildren, his identical twin, Tim, and his big sister, Barbara Bryan Hise. We all remember Jim as a loving and adored father, grandfather, uncle, husband, brother, friend an healer. He will be buried with full military honors at Riverside National Cemetery, CA.

My condolences to Dr. Bryan´s family. He was my ophthalmologist for many year´s, until he retired, and also for my parents, and 3 or 4 other family members.
Kind regards, Debbie Carr

Dr. Bryan was opthalmologist to both me and my husband. We appreciated his kindness, attention to our health, and that he would remember our other health issues which could have had an effect upon our vision. He was not afraid to discuss the craziness of healthcare as a business! We valued him as more than "just an eye doctor". The world needs more doctors like him, and he will be missed so much. Our sympathies go out to his family and friends.

Dr Bryan was my ophthalmologist for 40 years and I trusted him to do my eye surgery. He was well respected by my fellow workers at both hospitals.
My condolences to all of his family.
